Installation & Commissioning
If you're thinking about buying a boat or maybe you just want to upgrade your current boat, installation and commissioning can be a hassle. Especially if you don't have the time to do it. As well as boat owners, if you are a boat builder or chandlery store who may have sold equipment to your customers and simply do not have the time to fit the equipment or would like to hand the responsibility over to someone else, then we can also offer you an installation and commissioning service if required. BKMS can offer you extremely good prices on many types of quality marine equipment, and also offer installation and commissioning of that equipment at a fixed rate price. We specialise in many different fields of installs, such as full or part heating installation on many makes and model, bow and stern thruster installations, engine installations, plumbing and electrical fitting.
Installations
Whats Involved...
- Full Installation involves us supplying and fitting a complete system including radiators, water pipes, calorifiers, heater unit + parts. We will normally allow between 2 days to a week for this installation depending on the boat.
- Part Installation involves us fitting a heater kit on an already plumbed in water system. We will also fill the system and balance the radiators for you. This will normally take about a day depending on the boat.
- Exchange installation involves us taking off a older unit, mainly from other manufactures or even gas systems and replacing it with a brand new heater kit which can be used on your existing plumbing system. This will normally take about a days work depending on the boat.
- We also sell and Install Bow & Stern Thrusters. Installations will vary depending on application and if a tube is needed.
Cost Guide...
- Most installation costs vary depending on the type of boat. We generally charge £35 + VAT p/h for smaller installs plus the price of any parts needed.
- Larger installs can be quoted over the phone or by email, where we can work out what will be involved and get a price to you straight away.
- For the cheapest installation prices, arrange for the boat to be left at our canal side premises where you can moor and stay if need be till the job is complete.
Commissioning
- Most warranty only starts when the boat is complete and the equipment has been commissioned either by yourself, the boat builder or us.
- Commissioning forms must be completed and sent back to start the warranty from this point.
- We offer a full commissioning service, where we can check to see everything conforms with boat safety regs, and the installation is correct in order for the heater to work.
- If you have installed the system yourself and are unsure of your work then this service is very useful.
- Generally rates are charged at £35 + VAT p/h + travel time. For best prices bring the boat to us at Napton Junction.
