Narrowboat Heating

Together with Webasto, B.K Marine Systems has developed a water heating kit specifically designed for narrowboat use.

 

Webasto market a 4, 5, and 9kw water heater for use on the Inland Waterways and we have modified the installation kits to conform to BSC regulations. All necessary items to make installation relatively simple for this type of craft are included within the kit.

 

Our water heaters can be used to heat radiators, blower fans and convector heaters as well as, of course, calorifier tanks. They can also be adapted easily to existing pipework if you are replacing an existing water heating system.

 

All Webasto models feature many innovative design details, but most significant over their opposition, is the use of a ceramic “Glow Pin” instead of the usual glow plug, to fire the heater. This means that start up current is reduced from approx. 22-24 amps at 12volts down to as little as 8 amps. Noise is also reduced to a level that with engine room boards down; it is hardly possible to even hear the heater running!  Maintenance is minimal, and Warranty is covered for 2 years.
